Privacy Policy

Fadeaway ("Fadeaway", "we", "us") is a play-money sports picks game for friend leagues, available as the Fadeaway Picks app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

The short version

We collect what the game needs: your sign-in email, birthday, username and your picks.
We don't sell your information, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.
Fadeaway uses play money only. We never collect payment or bank details.
You can delete your account in the app at any time.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Sign-in details. When you continue with Apple or Google, we receive the email address that service shares with us. With Apple you can choose to hide your email, in which case we receive a private relay address. Google may also share your name and profile picture; we don't use or display them.
Birthday. We ask for your date of birth to confirm you're 18 or older. It is never shown to other players.
Profile. The username you choose, an optional display name, and an avatar color.
Game activity. The leagues you create or join, the picks you make (games, selections, odds, play-money amounts and times), and your results, stash and standings.
Messages to us. If you email support, we keep that conversation so we can help you.

Information collected automatically

Push notification token. If you allow notifications, your device gives us a token so we can send you game updates, such as a pick result or a week going final. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your phone's settings.
Service logs. Our hosting provider keeps routine technical records, such as IP address, device and app version, and request times, to run and secure the service.
On your device. The app stores your signed-in session (encrypted) and your settings, such as odds format and haptics, on your phone.

What we don't collect

We don't access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location. We don't use advertising identifiers, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How we use your information

To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
To confirm you meet the minimum age.
To run your leagues: record picks, settle them against real game results, and compute stashes and standings.
To send the notifications you've allowed.
To answer support requests, fix problems and prevent abuse.
To meet legal obligations.

What other players can see

Fadeaway is played inside private leagues, and what other people see is limited:

Members of your leagues see your username and avatar color.
Your picks, stash and weekly rank stay hidden from other members until that week's games are final. After that, members of that league can see them. Picks on your winning slips appear to your league right away, with the amounts hidden until the week is final.
Anyone with a league's invite code can see the league's name, its commissioner's username and how many members it has.
Your email, birthday and display name are never shown to other players.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that run Fadeaway for us:

Supabase hosts our database, sign-in and server functions.
Expo delivers push notifications (through Apple's and Google's push services) and app updates. Notifications include short game messages, such as a league name or a pick result.
Apple and Google handle sign-in when you choose them.

We get odds and scores from sports data providers, but we don't send them any information about you. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our players or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the app, in which case this policy continues to apply.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your username, display name, avatar color, birthday, push tokens and sign-in connections, and remove your email from our sign-in records. Your past picks and results stay in the leagues you played in, shown as "Deleted user", so those leagues' standings still add up; they're no longer linked to your name or email. Service logs are kept for a limited time by our hosting provider.

Your choices and rights

Delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and can't be undone.
Notifications can be turned off in the app or in your phone's settings.
Your profile can be edited in the app.
Access, correction or deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of your information or ask us to correct or delete it. Email support@fadeawaypicks.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, an encrypted session on your device, and database rules that limit each player to the data they're allowed to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

Age requirement

Fadeaway is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Where we operate

Fadeaway is run from Utah, in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the app from elsewhere, you understand your information will be handled there.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
